On June 6th and 7th , Ilhabela will host the second stage of XTERRA Brasil 2025, an event that marks 20 years of the traditional competition in the country.
The city, a national reference in sports tourism and surrounded by natural landscapes of rare beauty, will once again be the stage for events in the Triathlon, Trail Run (5 km, 10 km and 21 km), Swim Challenge and the Super Kids children’s race.
For the first time, the 21 km Triathlon and Trail Run events will guarantee the winners places in the world championship in the category , which increases the international visibility of the event and the technical level of the competitions.
Despite the importance of the event and the history of encouraging sport by the municipal administration, the City of Ilhabela informs that, due to the current budget contingency decree, the public resources allocated to holding XTERRA 2025 were lower than in previous years.
As a result, the number of free registrations available to athletes in the municipality has been reduced. In total, 240 vouchers will be made available, divided as follows:
- 95 places for Trail Run 5 km
- 75 places for Trail Run 10 km
- 30 places for Trail Run 21 km
- 40 places for the swimming event (Swim Challenge)
Vouchers will be distributed on June 2nd and 3rd , according to the schedule established by the organization.
The withdrawal for the 10 km and 21 km races will take place this Tuesday (03), from 7 pm , at Ginásio Oscar Schmidt.
Delivery will be made on a first-come, first-served basis and will continue as long as there is availability for each modality.
Find out what the criteria are for withdrawing vouchers:
- Mandatory presentation of proof of residence in the athlete’s name or voter registration card in Ilhabela;
- Donation of a 5-liter bottle of water at the time of collection;
- Withdrawal by third parties will not be permitted.
The Department of Sports and Leisure advises that local athletes who are unable to secure free vouchers register directly on the event’s official website by June 4th : xterrabrasil.com.br .
Despite budgetary constraints, the City Hall remains committed to maintaining the municipal sports calendar. Efforts are being made to adapt events to the new reality, with the expectation that, from 2026, investments can be resumed at previous levels.
The commitment to encouraging sports, promoting health and fostering tourism remains a management priority.
